Google's YouTube and Universal Music Group, the world's largest music company, said on Thursday they will launch a premium music video website as they bid to increase revenue from YouTube's huge usage.

The new advertiser-supported site, featuring professional videos, will be called Vevo and is expected to launch in coming months, the companies said.

The deal is a boost for YouTube, which has been under increasing pressure from music labels and publishers who are frustrated that the popular site has been unable to pay higher fees for rights to use their music and videos.

What is Conficker

Conficker is a newly spread computer worm that targets Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. It was first detected in October 2008. Conficker is also known as Kido, Downup or Downadup. This worm is extremelt difficult for security and network operators to detect and counter because it uses a combination of unique and very advanced computer malware techniques that have never been seen before.

Effects of this worm were supposed to be started on April 1st by some experts but it did'nt happen.but now the dreaded Conficker computer worm is stirring. Security experts say the worm's authors appear to be trying to build a big moneymaker, but not a cyber weapon of mass destruction as many people feared.

As many as 12 million computers have been infected by Conficker. Security firm Trend Micro says some of the machines have been updated over the past few days with fake antivirus software — the first attempt by Conficker's authors to profit from their massive "botnet."

Criminals use bogus security software to extort money. Victims are told their computers are infected, and can be fixed only by paying for a clean-up that never happens. Conficker gets on computers through a hole Microsoft patched in October.

 Google has made yet another step designed to threaten the dominance of Microsoft when it comes down to the market of productivity applications with its Office System. With the Reseller Program for Google Apps, the Mountain View-based search giant is looking to attract the interest of technology solution providers to take Google Apps to businesses around the world. Via the new channel program, resellers are offered the option to not only sell seats of Google Apps Premier Edition, but also customize and support Google's in-the-Cloud equivalent to Microsoft's Office.

"Google Apps has reached a level of maturity where it is useful and valuable for almost any business" Dave Girouard, president of Enterprise, Google, explained. "This program gives IT solution providers an easy way to introduce cloud computing to their service offerings, while helping more businesses make the transition to this new era of technology."

Google Apps Premier Edition is a collection of communication and collaboration solutions hosted entirely in the Cloud by Google. The Mountain View company informed that business customers would be able to benefit from Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Sites, Google Talk, and Google Video either directly, or through resellers.

According to the latest news on the Web, mobile phone operators in India have announced recently that all mobile phones in the country that do not have a unique IMEI serial number, or which make use of Chinese style blank IMEIs will be aggressively disconnected in about ten days. The measure was ordered by the country’s regulator as a
result of the recent terrorist attacks in India, so it comes as a security move.

Previous reports show that there are around 30 million mobile phones in the country that could be affected by the recently announced directive, which means that about 8 percent of the total subscribers in India own such a phone.

As many of you might already know, the IMEI should be a 15-digit serial that is unique to each mobile device. According to the latest reports in the country, some operators have detected that sometimes up to 1000 mobile phones share the same serial number.

US studio Warner Bros on Monday put its Bollywood counterparts on notice that they would sue for breach of copyright if the hit film ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ was remade here. Advertisements were placed in the Times of India and trade magazines stating that Warner Bros is the joint author and co-owner of the copyright of the period drama, which earned 13 nominations at this year’s Oscars. “Recent press reports have indicated that certain parties are in the process of producing a film in Hindi based upon the aforementioned film,” New Delhi-based law firm Lall and Sethi Advocates said in the public notice.

A lawsuit will be slapped on anyone producing a film “either in English or Hindi or other language, having a similar script, screenplay or story line or character sketches or interplay of characters or sequence of events,” it said. The move follows reports that Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai are to star in a film called ‘Action Replay’ directed by Vipul Shah, with a possible release in November.
